My first introduction to Charlie Trotter was when I first read “The United States of Arugula” in my early 20’s on the verge of figuring out if I just wanted to keep dreaming for the rest of my life or turn those dreams into reality.
This book was one of the rare books that helped me realize that being in the food/ wine world was a legitimate goal to have amidst the Asian Law of either becoming a Lawyer, Doctor or Accountant. With this said, I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing and will remember him and be grateful to him for being a contributor to my professional success.
#latergram…the road to #Scribe #wine #Sonoma. (at Scribe Winery)
I was once again lucky enough to be apart of the production team of Wine & Spirits Magazine’s Top 100 Tasting Event this October…. and took advantage of the extra couple of days afterwards to trail up to Sonoma.
This will be my third year visiting Scribe Winery... a post #Top100 tradition for my boyfriend and I. This year was just as good as the first year we visited. The wines are delicious as Adam & Andrew are getting more comfortable in their winemaking roles. This year we were lucky enough to have Adam sit in on our tasting’ stitching the stories behind the label is always an exciting part of tasting for me. Adam did not disappoint with his vivid encounter as he describe how Scribe became what it is today which makes me believe once again that dreams do come true.
And a bonus… Adam’s a typical Cali boy who enjoys a good surf, just like my boo whose always looking for a good #Swell…which we always welcome in this family!
I have always been a healthy(ish) eater but after researching on how every day items that you eat (eggs, dairy, nightshades, various fruits, wheat to name a few) can have significant and negative impact on your body especially if you are slightly allergic… had me rethink they way I eat.
It is still a learning curve or more like “getting use” to process of rethinking the way I eat… but I am starting to see the difference significantly. I am psyched for a new cook book I bought on Amazon; It’s All Good by Gwyneth Paltrow.
Ms. Paltrow’s new book reinforces my new eating habits with her delicious recipes. I literally sat down and scanned through the whole book “post-it” different recipes. I specifically zoned in on the ones marked “Elimination Diet and have been cooking up a storm at home. I love how easy a lot of the recipes are and use the same key ingredients in different ways… so you get the most out of each ingredient.

Inspiration for Spring. My new scarf. #springfling.
This was a steal and (gasp!) H&M. I went in there to look at the conscious collection and walked out with this scarf. I pair this with my Leibeskind bag (favorite Christmas gift from B) and my leather jacket that I live in. Perfect Chilly Spring outfit in the City.
Fresh out the box… #juiceITup!!!
I got inspired after finishing the Creative Juice Cleanse by Union Square Hospitality Group’s Danny Meyers and world reknown Dr. Jeffery Morrison. The juices taste delicious and I felt revived after my cleanse. Now I try to Juice it Up as much as possible at home as the first meal of the day!
